The Problem
Cats are amazing reproducers because female queens are induced ovulators- they ovulate after mating- which pretty much guarantees conception. They can become pregnant as early as four months old, and have up to five litters a year since their gestation period is only two months. So just one female can give birth to up to thirty kittens a year, while male can impregnate countless females.
And what will happen to all these cats?
They can succumb to diseases, get hit by cars, abused by cruel people, attacked by other animals, or struggle to find a kind caretaker to provide them with enough food, clean water, and shelter.
Cats are domesticated animals, and therefore dependent on humans to thrive. Contrary to what some people think, cats cannot survive by hunting, so instead, cats who are not provided food by humans are left to scavenge for their survival.
