By joining our team, you will gain valuable experience and meet other passionate and dynamic individuals! Below are descriptions of the areas of our work. Please fill out the "Join Us" form and choose what suits your interests and availability.
TRAPPING
Trapping is at the heart of our work. If you enjoy being in the trenches, working with lots of different people, and have a sporting nature, then trapping is for you!
If you do not have trapping experience, the best place to become certified is with the Neighborhood Cats TNR Training Workshop, offered monthly, online for $10.
After taking the course, you can shadow a fellow Wildflowers trapper until you feel ready to go out on your own.
Trappers can expect to spend 1-3 hours on the monthly trapping day (always a Saturday) -possibly more if needed and able, and be able to release cats they trapped back to their locations the day after surgery (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
CAT CARE
This can be dirty work (gloves provided!), and being mindful is very important to keep everyone safe- but caring for the cats in traps is easier than you might think. It's like being a candy striper to a bunch of kitty patients! A training session will be provided at our holding space in Clifton.
We also have shifts for caring for our adoptable fosters every day!
Cat Care shifts will be:
AM. (before noon)
PM. (between 5-8 pm)
Night Owl- after 10pm the night before surgery for food and water removal
TRANSPORT
We will need other transport help from time to time to take cats to special vet appointments, or other needs as they arise.
SOCIAL MEDIA
There are endless stories to tell, and the cats need us to be their voice. Social Media team members will work together to divide tasks and plan content:
Video Editing
Regular Posting
Fundraising Campaigns
Appreciation Posts
Graphics
FUNDRAISING
We couldn't do anything without fundraising. And we find that people are so happy to give because they really believe in the work we do. The fundraising team will work together to brainstorm and execute fundraising ideas, write grants, and manage our online Merch sales. We welcome leaders to help us grow our fundraising efforts!
TABLING
As part of educating the public about TNR and empathy for cats, we will be out in the community as much as possible, sharing our work and creating relationships. If talking cats for hours while dressed in your favorite kitty garb sounds like a fun day out, then tabling is for you! As we grow this part of the organization, we would love help with:
Seeking community events
Managing the table at the events
Making educational materials
Ideas for interactive tabling (giveaways, games etc.)
ADMINISTRATIVE
If you can't be available to help in person, there are always computer tasks that we could use help with!
